The 2008 RAF Tucano Flying Display

The Tucano dispaly is flown from a holding position away from the display airfield. The display can not be flown directly from take off.

2008 Display - Full Sequence

Arrival - low pass

Canadian break into max rate turn

Vertical 360 degree roll to pitch away - roll through 270 degrees in descent

1/2 Cuban

4 pt Roll

3/4 Loop - 90 degree roll away in vertical

Prince of Wales - 180 degree roll in descent

1/4 clover

Negative 1/2 Cuban

Canadian break to 35 degree offset

Hesitation reverse wingover

1/4 Clover - in  45 degrees out 45 degrees  

1/2 Horizontal into max possible rate turn/max rate turn

Stall turn with 60 degree roll in descent

Reverse wing over

Slow roll

Hesitation 1/2 cuban

Inverted fly through

Horizontal 8 into max possible rate turn/max rate turn

Stall turn configuring to land  or stall turn clean to fly through at 100 ft after reverse wing over

2008 Display - Rolling Sequence

The rolling display is used when the weather is unfit for the full display. Although it is designed for a cloud base down to 1500 feet, where possible Stew makes use of any gaps in the cloud to raise the vertical extent of the rolling display.

Stall turn with 90 deg roll

Aileron roll

1/2 Horizontal

4 Point roll

Oblique loop

Rev W/O

450 deg break left

Derry wing Over

Canadian break right

1/2 Horizontal

Canadian break to 35 degree offset

Hesitation reverse wingover

Barrel roll left - in 45 degrees out 45 degrees

1/2 Horizontal into max possible rate turn/max rate turn

Stall turn with 60 degree roll in descent

Reverse wing over

Slow roll

2008 Display - Flat Sequence

The flat display is similar to the rolling display but can be used with a cloud base down to 1000 feet. Stew is able to switch between the various display types while he is airborne to maximise the variety of manoeuvres the Tucano has to offer for the crowd.
